Old Hospital In Mqabba Given New Life After Extensive Restoration Work

On Friday, 16 October 2026, the restoration of the Old Hospital in Mqabba was officially inaugurated by Minister for Local Government and Public Works Alison Zerafa Civelli, together with Mqabba Mayor Grace Marie Zerafa and the Mqabba Local Council.
The project, with a total investment of €192,000, included €112,000 in funding from the Local Council and €80,000 from the LESA Agency. It aimed to restore and preserve the historic building for future generations.
The Mqabba Local Council expressed satisfaction at having given new life to a building of significant historical value to the locality, with the aim of making it available for renewed use for the benefit of the Mqabba community.
