The official UEFA Euros Instagram page, with its massive following of 17.8 million, has put Maltese winger Joseph Mbong in the spotlight after showcasing his stunning assist for Cain Attard’s goal against Cyprus.
The moment came during the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, when Malta celebrated a historic 3-0 victory over fellow Mediterranean side Cyprus. Mbong stood out on the night, not only providing a brilliantly executed assist but also getting on the scoresheet himself.
UEFA’s page went as far as asking fans whether it was the “best assist ever”, even branding Mbong’s piece of skill as a “1000 IQ play.”
