Notte Bianca Returns This Saturday With Over 70 Artistic Projects

One of Festivals Malta’s biggest cultural events, Notte Bianca, returns this Saturday 4th October with activities all over Valletta. This year, Notte Bianca will host over 70 projects from local and international artists, with performances including dance, music, theatre and more. It is truly an event for the entire family!

Before heading over to the event, Festivals Malta is encouraging everyone to plan ahead by checking the artistic programme available on their website. There is also an interactive map showing the location of each project, making it easier for you to get around during the night.
The projects are also divided into seven distinct routes, making it easier for you to find the project that interests you the most. These include the Red Route (for adults only), the Music Route, the Dance Route, the Kids Route, the Theatre Route, the Classical Route and the Alternative Route.
Don’t know which projects to choose? We’ve got you covered! From the music route, you can enjoy Jazz music thanks to Dominic Galea’s ‘Jazztet’ or ‘Paul Giordimaina ft Nadine Axisa’ at the Embassy Hotel. You can also head over to the mainstage at St George’s Square for a concert by The Travellers, followed by Versatile Brass. If you are into the party vibe, the alternative route has got you covered with ‘Chasing Sunsets’ at Laparelli Gardens, featuring DJs such as Tenishia, DJ Ruby, Trilucid and more! This route will also include ‘Poeżiji u Snooker’ at the La Vallette Band Club, a show featuring live music from Vince Fabri, while snooker legend Tony Drago challenges ten players to an impromptu game. For classical music lovers, the classic route includes several concerts of sacred music including ‘Sagru Kontemporanju’ at St Ursola’s Church and ‘Strauss Soirée’ at the Malta Chamber of Commerce. You can also head over to Pjazza Teatru Rjal for a concert featuring brass band, Brass House Unit. The red route, which is strictly for adults over 18 years old, features ‘Il-Maltin Imqarbin’ and ‘Ġuri tal-Psataż’ two performances in all their spicy comedic glory at the Royal British Legion you don’t want to miss. If you’re into Theatre or Dance, you can also follow these respective routes for projects such as ‘Jiena Mario’ at Spazju Kreattiv and ‘Maestrissimo’ at Teatru Manoel or ‘Border’ at the Malta Chamber of Commerce, and ‘Variations on Dusk’ at the Museum of Archaeology’s Gran Salon. We’ve also got some good news for parents, as Notte Bianca will have a children’s area thanks to the kids route at the Upper Barrakka Gardens starting from 4pm onwards.

When travelling to and from Notte Bianca, you are strongly encouraged to make use of public transport as much as possible. This will be made easy through various extended services from the Linja, the Gozo Fast Ferry (with the last trip departing from Valletta at 12:30am), as well as Three Cities and Sliema ferries (which will continue to operate until 2am).

Notte Bianca is organised by Festivals Malta with the support of the Ministry for Culture, Lands and Local Government, and in collaboration with Coca Cola, Vibe FM and European Heritage Days.
