NO SPACE FOR A FRONT PLATE? NEW STICKER OPTION AVAILABLE

Transport Malta has introduced a new option for motorists to display their vehicle’s front registration number, offering an alternative to the traditional front registration plate.
The new front registration plate sticker is intended for vehicles where limited or no space on the front bumper makes it impractical to fit a standard registration plate.
However, the sticker will not be available automatically. Each vehicle must first be assessed by Transport Malta’s Technical Unit, with approval then required from the relevant Board. Vehicle owners will be notified once their vehicle has been confirmed as eligible.
Once approved, applicants can submit their application at the DVLU offices at A3 Towers in Arcade Street, Paola, or on Pantar Road in Lija.
Applicants must complete Form VEH 19 at the office and make the required payment. Transport Malta will subsequently notify them when the sticker is ready for collection.
The sticker must be affixed to the inside of the vehicle’s windscreen and must remain fully visible and unobstructed at all times.
Transport Malta is encouraging eligible motorists, particularly owners of vehicles with limited front bumper space, to follow the established application process and ensure the sticker is displayed according to the relevant requirements.
The authority is also advising motorists seeking further information or assistance to contact Transport Malta directly.
