No Prison Escape Attempts Reported Since 2025 In Malta

According to information tabled in parliament, there have been no prison break attempts in Malta since 2025.
Following a question asked by Nationalist MP Albert Buttigieg to Byron Camilleri, Minister for Home Affairs, Security, Reforms and Equality of Malta, it was revealed that no prisoner has attempted to escape from Corradino Correctional Facility between 2025 and now.
Reports show that as of last year, Malta’s prison was hosting 727 inmates, 374 of which were foreigners.
More information tabled from another parliamentary question revealed that 68 inmates currently in Corradino Correctional Facility are women.
