Minister Glenn Bedingfield has taken to social media to clear up allegations being made, claiming that prisoners have passed away due to extreme heat within the facility.
“No person died in prison due to heat,” stated the Minister for Home Affairs and Security, Glenn Bedingfield.
He proceeded to explain that the credibility of people who make these “baseless allegations” has died.
“When politics tries to be sensational,” Bedingfield stated, “the truth is the first to die.”
Bedingfield’s brief social media statement comes after claims of a prisoner dying after passing out in his cell have been circulating on social media.
