New The Travellers Song For Campaign Against Domestic Violence

Local band The Travellers have released a brand new song, ‘SBEJĦA’, to coincide with the launch of a 16 day campaign against domestic and gender based violence.
Speaking during the launch of the campaign, The Travellers frontman Chris said that ‘Sbejħa’ is the person going through domestic violence, ‘clearly visible with a visually striking video, whilst the child is seeing his mum go through this situation.
‘Sbejha’ songwriter Andrew, who spent 10 years teaching in schools, said that he wanted to raise awareness about the fact that problem is all around us, and he is very well aware how domestic violence impacts children for the rest of their lives, and how there are children who only find refuge at school.
Hence the song name Sbejħa. Andrew urged perpetrators to become conscious about their impact on not just their victims, but even their children and how it impacts their whole future.
Chris added that perpetrators know they are doing something wrong and urged them to seek help to start making a difference in their lives and those around them.
