A new podcast studio has been set up at the Jake Vella Volunteering Centre in Paola, offering voluntary organisations new opportunities to share their work with the public.

The studio, located on the centre’s upper floor, was announced during a visit by Inclusion and Volunteering Minister Julia Farrugia.

The initiative forms part of the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector’s (MCVS) efforts to expand its outreach through media, including social media. In the coming months, the studio will also be made available to voluntary organisations to record videos for campaigns, digital platforms and other initiatives.

The Jake Vella Volunteering Centre has become a point of reference for voluntary organisations, providing facilities for meetings, training and other activities. Between January and October 2026, the centre recorded 332 booked activities.

Farrugia said volunteering was a key partner in bringing about social change and that the Government was continuing to invest in the tools and spaces voluntary organisations need.

She added that the studio would help organisations raise awareness about community needs, communicate their work to wider audiences and encourage more people to volunteer.

MCVS chief executive Mauro Pace Parascandalo said the initiative reaffirmed the council’s commitment to modernising its services and investing in resources for the voluntary sector.
