Neil Agius To Lead 12-Hour Swimming Challenge For L-Istrina, And You’re Invited

Swimmers of all ages and abilities are invited to join Neil Agius for a 12-hour swimming challenge on Boxing Day, with donations going towards L-Istrina.

‘Ngħumu Flimkien Għal L-Istrina’ will take place at Neptunes on December 26 in support of the Malta Community Chest Fund. Agius will swim continuously for 12 hours, and you and your friends can make a donation to join him during designated swimming slots.

Agius said the event is about “bringing people together and seeing what we can achieve as a community.”

The endurance athlete has an impressive resume, previously completing Gozo7 in September 2025, swimming around Gozo every day for seven days straight. And in 2024, he also broke his own world record by swimming 142.3km around the Maltese islands.

‘Ngħumu Flimkien Għal L-Istrina’ will feature during L-Istrina’s television coverage, with swimming clubs, businesses and the public encouraged to participate or donate.
