Naxxar Local Council Objects To 5am Construction Works Following Residents’ Complaints

The Naxxar Local Council has raised concerns following a recent construction incident in Naxxar, while clarifying its position on complaints submitted by residents affected by ongoing works in the area.

In a statement, the Council said it had received numerous complaints regarding construction activity and excessive noise taking place as early as 5:00am. It stressed that no authorisation or agreement had been issued permitting works to begin at such hours.

The Council confirmed it had formally communicated its objections to the relevant authorities, including the Building and Construction Authority, maintaining that works commencing so early in the morning are unacceptable. Residents have also reported trucks sounding their horns at dawn to request vehicles be moved, causing further disturbance.

The Council acknowledged the importance of remedial works and public safety, but insisted that residents’ wellbeing and quality of life must also be safeguarded.
