Nationalist MP Robert Cutajar Announces He Will Not Be Contesting In Next General Election

Robert Cutajar, a Member in the Maltese Parliament who also served as the Deputy and Whip of the Nationalist Party, has announced that he will not be contesting in the next general election, after 35 years serving the Opposition.
He shared this news during a political activity last Sunday in Mellieħa, and later on his social media.
"I feel emotional but also serene and at peace with myself that during all these years I gave it my all," stated Cutajar on his Facebook.
"However, until the next election I will give my best effort so together we can see the Nationalist Party win and Alex Borg as the Prime Minister."
He concluded the post by thanking everyone who stood by him through this time, including Mellieħa residents and those in District 12.
The Nationalist Party also released a statement on their social media, sharing the news with their followers.
