Naomi Cachia has retained her position as Government Whip following a meeting of the Labour Party Parliamentary Group held at the party headquarters after the conclusion of the electoral process.

During the meeting, Fleur Abela was appointed Deputy Whip as the Parliamentary Group prepared for the official opening of Parliament, where newly elected MPs will take their oath of office on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister and Labour Party Leader Robert Abela underlined the crucial role Labour MPs will play in delivering the commitments outlined in the party's Int Malta electoral manifesto.

He noted that the Government intends to implement more than 1,000 proposals and pledged that the first 100 days of the new legislature would provide a clear indication that electoral promises will be translated into concrete action for the benefit of the Maltese and Gozitan people.

The Prime Minister also stressed that the Government will continue working within the framework of Malta Vision 2050, with a strong focus on quality of life and family wellbeing. He said the administration would build on the strong mandate received from voters to deliver long-term social and economic progress.
