Local

The Nadur Spontaneous Carnival has been officially launched: one of the first major events of Malta and Gozo’s cultural calendar.

Returning to the streets of Nadur, Gozo from 13 to 15 February, the event promises three days of unapologetic creativity, music and spectacle that continue to draw thousands from across the Maltese Islands and beyond.

Launched by Malta Daily in collaboration with G7 Events, the Nadur Spontaneous Carnival has built a reputation for its raw and unfiltered character. It is defined by self-made costumes, daring floats and improvised performances that turn the village into a living canvas for artistic expression. Year after year, Nadur becomes a focal point for contemporary commentary, humour and tradition, all unfolding organically in the heart of the community.

The carnival’s continued growth highlights its cultural relevance, strengthening Gozo’s position as a destination for alternative and community-driven events. Its impact extends beyond entertainment, contributing to local identity, tourism and creative participation at a national level.

Support for the event comes from the Ministry for Gozo and Planning, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Local Government, the Local Government Division, Visit Malta, Lighthouse Supermarket and the Nadur Local Council.
