Taking to social media, the sister of assassinated journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, Mandy Mallia, shared a photo and some thoughts as the trial of Yorgen Fenech, in connection with the murder, moves forward.

“Mummy died without seeing justice served, while Daddy - who is in his late eighties - still follows every little detail about Daphne online, after having spent years sitting in court (along with Mummy) inches away from his eldest daughter’s assorted murderers”, she wrote.

Mallia made reference to Fenech reportedly saying in recordings that Daphne must not ‘end up like Romeo Bone’, who survived a car bomb but had his legs blown off.

“In fact, the military-grade bomb used to kill my eldest sister was reinforced with a bottle of petrol.”

“THIS is Daphne, who was a living, breathing human being before the contract put out on her life was executed on Monday the 16th of October at 2.58pm.This photo (taken by me) shows her sharing a hearty laugh with our father at a happy family gathering at my home in June 2003.”
