Residents of Msida are now enjoying a new public square and regenerated public spaces after a key phase of the Msida Creek Project was opened ahead of the locality's parish feast celebrations.

The new square, together with sections of the waterfront promenade, offers a safer, more accessible environment for residents and visitors while creating a new focal point for community life. The area has already begun hosting feast-related activities, including family events and preparations for the traditional Ġostra competition.

During a site visit, Infrastructure Minister Jonathan Attard said the project had met its promised deadline, allowing the community to celebrate this year's feast in the new space. He described the opening as an important milestone in the wider regeneration project.

Infrastructure Malta CEO Steve Ellul noted that the 2,200-square-metre square, comparable in size to St George's Square in Valletta, replaces four former traffic lanes. Works on the remaining sections of the Msida Creek Project are ongoing.
