MP Ramona Attard Warns Scam Asking For Money Posing As Her On WhatsApp

Taking to social media, Labour MP Ramona Attard warned followers of a scam going around pretending to be her and asking for money through WhatsApp.
She explained that this is a form of social engineering, wherein a recent log-in by herself to vote to support a ‘girl in a competition’ gave them access to her personal WhatsApp and send the messages.
She urged persons not to send money if they do not have a clear contact with whomever they are willing to donate to.
Attard said that the Maltese people are very generous and willing to give to charity, but urged everyone to be careful so as not to have this kindness be taken advantage of.
