MP Fleur Abela Shares Heartfelt Message To Her Younger Self During Pride Month

Fleur Abela, a Maltese Member of Parliament who is openly part of the LGBTQIA+ community, shared a heartfelt message to her younger self for Pride month.

Abela shared that although she’s a week late for Pride, she still wants to take the time to share her message to the “shy girl” she used to be.

“You’ll be confused until you figure out who you love. You’ll have your heart broken, and you’ll put the pieces back together,” stated Abela.

“And when you think you won’t amount to anything, remember: one day you’ll start aiming for the stars. You’llbecome what you want to be, live abroad, and be in a position to help others,” she continued.

The MP also mentioned her friends and family, who she expressed loved her and understood her, standing by her throughout.

Fleur Abela then spoke to her readers, stating, “ if I made it, so can you. Who you love does not determine how far you can go.”

Abela concluded by pleading to the public to “be patient” and to “stay kind.”

Fleur is the first female Member of Parliament in Malta to be openly part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
