Mozart, Schubert & Liszt Come Together For A Special Evening At Villa Corinthia

Music lovers are in for an elegant evening this October as ‘Memorable Piano Quintets’ brings an intimate programme of classical music to Villa Corinthia on Sunday 4th October.

Hosted at Francesco Mazzei at Villa Corinthia, the evening will take audiences on a musical journey through three contrasting works by Mozart, Schubert and Liszt, moving from light-hearted elegance to intimate lyricism and uplifting brilliance.

The programme opens with Mozart’s Divertimento for string quartet, a graceful and energetic work characterised by warm melodies and the composer’s unmistakable clarity.

The evening then turns to Schubert’s Ständchen, presented in Liszt’s transcription for solo piano. The beloved serenade is transformed into a tender piano work, retaining Schubert’s lyrical simplicity while introducing Liszt’s distinctive colour and virtuosity.

Closing the programme is Schubert’s celebrated Trout Quintet, one of chamber music’s best-loved works. Known for its radiant melodies, lively rhythms and variations on Schubert’s Die Forelle (“The Trout”), the piece promises a joyful finale to the evening.

Tickets are priced at €70, including the concert at Villa Corinthia followed by a standing reception.
