Motorcyclist Suffers Serious Injuries In Birkirkara Crash With Van

A 28-year-old motorcyclist was injured following a traffic collision with a van in Birkirkara this morning.

Police said they were informed of the accident at around 11am in Triq Fleur-de-Lys.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the crash involved an Isuzu Elf van driven by a 64-year-old man from Birkirkara and a Surron Ultra Bee electric motorcycle ridden by a 28-year-old man from Ħal Balzan.

A medical team and ambulance were dispatched to the scene, where the injured motorcyclist was given first aid before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment.

He was later certified as having sustained grievous injuries.

The condition of the van driver was not reported, and no other injuries were mentioned by the police.

Magisterial inquiries and police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing.
