MOTORCYCLIST HOSPITALISED AFTER OFF-ROADING INCIDENT IN XEWKIJA

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after falling approximately six metres from a hill while off-roading in Xewkija, Gozo, on Sunday morning.

The accident occurred at around 9.30am near the WasteServ plant. The man was reportedly riding with two friends when he lost control and fell into the valley along with his motorcycle.

Rescuers from Fire Station 6 and the Civil Protection Department responded to the emergency. The casualty was immobilised, safely rescued, and transferred to the medical team at Gozo General Hospital for further treatment. The Civil Protection Malta expressed gratitude to the Malta Police Force and the Emergency Department of Gozo General Hospital for their assistance and cooperation.

The motorcyclist’s condition has not yet been made public. Police investigations into the circumstances of the accident are ongoing.
