Mother Reflects On Young Son Harvey’s Chemotherapy Battle Against Leukaemia

In a post shared by Puttinu Cares, mother of little Harvey shared her family’s experience when her son was diagnosed with leukaemia, requiring chemotherapy.
‘4th August 2022. A date that lives in my heart forever. “Harvey has leukaemia. He starts chemo on Monday. The treatment is the longest of all cancers… over three years for boys.” Those words never escaped me’, she shared.
‘Everything we knew about life suddenly paused. The future felt uncertain, heavy, and terrifying. And yet, somehow, we had no choice but to step forward into a journey we never imagined we would walk’, she continued.
‘For 1,198 days, hospitals became part of our life. Daily chemotherapy, blood tests, appointments… they slowly became the new normal. A life no parent ever imagines for their child.’
‘And after 1,198 days of courage, resilience, tears, hope, and strength… In November 2025, Harvey completed his chemotherapy. A moment that once felt so far away. A finish line that often felt impossible.’
‘But Harvey showed us what true strength looks like. This journey changed us forever. And one thing will always remain true… our love for Puttinu will forever run in our blood.’
