Yesterday, we ran a quick poll with our followers to see whether the New Year, New Me energy is still alive, and the results were… telling.

Out of 568 people, only 231 said they made a New Year’s resolution, while a solid 337 admitted they didn’t bother at all. That’s nearly 60% choosing vibes over vows.

New Year’s resolutions actually date back thousands of years, with the ancient Babylonians believed to be the first to make promises at the start of the year, usually to repay debts or return borrowed items.

Over time, the tradition evolved into what we know today: pledges to eat better, exercise more, save money, or finally get our life together.

People make resolutions because a new year feels like a reset button; a clean slate, a fresh start, and a chance to do things “properly this time.”

But judging by our poll, many of you are clearly over the pressure.

Whether you’re chasing goals or just surviving 2026 one coffee at a time, you’re definitely not alone.
