More Than 60% Of Students At University Of Malta Are Female

During a recent parliamentary session, Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, Clifton Grima, disclosed the gender composition of full-time students at the University of Malta across its various faculties.
In his reply, Minister Grima stated that 61.01% of full-time students are female, 38.84% are male, while 0.15% are classified as other or unspecified.
The University of Malta is set to have over 12,800 students for the 2025–2026 academic year, including 5,200 new entrants. This total comprises undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in full-time or part-time degree and diploma courses. Additionally, there is a separate pre-tertiary student population of around 1,100 at the Ġ. F. Abela Junior College.
