Civil Protection Malta shared photos showing Malta’s streets covered in ice, describing it as “a different kind of January.”
Over the weekend, thunderstorms and ice took over the Maltese islands, with hail storms forming in the streets of Rabat.
Baħrija and Rabat were reportedly the most severely affected.
Civil Protection Malta, along with the Malta Police Force, Sigurta, and Transport Malta issued a warning for drivers in such adverse weather.
Despite this, the weather seemed to clear up this morning, with sunny skies taking over and people rushing out to experience the bizarre occurrence.
