Momentum Calls On MATSEC To Cancel June 1st Examinations
Local

Political party Momentum has raised alarm over plans to hold SEC examinations on the 1st of June, the same day nationwide celebrations are expected following the announcement of general election results.

The party says it has received multiple reports from concerned parents who fear students could face serious disruptions.

With MATSEC and SEC exams already placing heavy pressure on students, Momentum warned that traffic congestion, road closures, and official motorcades could delay or prevent candidates from reaching exam centres on time.

The party described the situation as avoidable and unfair.

Momentum is urging authorities to clarify how students will be guaranteed timely access to their exams and what measures will be in place for those affected by delays.

Momentum committee member Natasha Azzopardi said: “Students deserve certainty, fairness, and a level playing field, not added stress and logistical obstacles beyond their control.

Momentum stands with students, parents, and educators in calling for immediate action to rectify this situation.”
