Partit Momentum and the Green party ADPD have officially concluded discussions on cooperation ahead of a potential upcoming general election, confirming a coordinated approach between the two parties.

In a joint statement, the two smaller parties announced that after a series of meetings, they reached an agreement to collaborate while maintaining their distinct identities. The parties noted that despite remaining separate entities, they share enough common ground to justify working together strategically.

The cooperation will focus on coordinating candidates across electoral districts, ensuring a more structured and effective presence on the ballot. This effort aims to avoid overlap and strengthen their collective impact.

Additionally, both parties are encouraging voters to make full use of Malta’s transferable voting system. Supporters are urged to give their first preference to candidates from their preferred party, while continuing to rank candidates from both ADPD and Momentum to maximise the effectiveness of their vote.

Speculation about an imminent general election has been growing in recent weeks, with expectations mounting that Prime Minister Robert Abela may soon announce an official date.
