A video shared by social worker and Labour Party candidate Remenda Grech captures the moment she and a foster carer received wonderful news this Mother’s Day.

During a meeting held by wife of the Prime Minister, Lydia Abela, a foster worker explained that last Friday, a child in care was finally freed up for adoption after legal amendments made it possible.

‘As Director of Alternative Care, together with a dedicated team, we worked on legal amendments so children in care would not spend years waiting for certainty and a better future’, wrote Remenda.

‘Today we are seeing the real impact of those reforms’, she continued. ‘This is why I chose public service and politics, to keep working for changes that put people and children first.’
