Mixgħela Lights Up Valletta’s St George’s Square For Holy Week

Taking to social media, Valletta Cultural Agency chairman Jason Micallef shared photos of this year’s candle installation, known as a ‘Mixgħela’, in St George’s Square for Holy Week.
The installation was set up despite rough weather conditions that threatened its creation. But through the meticulous placing of hundreds of candles, the square was lit up with a stunning display.
This year’s design represented the Holy Chalice, and with music in the background, the installation will be creating an atmosphere of deep reflection for all those visiting the Valletta square.
