Minister for Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness Miriam Dalli has criticised the Nationalist Party’s energy proposals, claiming that a recent presentation outlining the plan contains fundamental errors.

Dalli argued that the PN’s approach lacks clarity and coherence, pointing to comments made earlier by PN leader Alex Borg. According to the Minister, Borg confirmed ongoing uncertainty within the party by stating that €60 million worth of solar panels would be installed on government property, while admitting that specific locations have yet to be identified.

She said this reinforces her view that the proposal was rushed and lacks sufficient detail, describing it as a plan put forward by a party which is panicking. Dalli maintained that the presence of what she called “basic mistakes” undermines the credibility of the PN’s strategy.

Concluding her remarks, the Minister questioned the Opposition’s reliability on energy policy, arguing that such shortcomings make it difficult for the party to be considered a credible alternative on issues such as the energy sector and electricity pricing.
