Minister for European Funds and Implementation of the Electoral Programme Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi has marked the end of the current parliamentary legislature with a reflective message following the final sitting of Parliament held yesterday evening.

Sharing a post on social media, Zrinzo Azzopardi noted that his parliamentary work, which began in 2017, is now coming to a close with the dissolution of this legislature. He described it as an honour to have served the country as an elected Member of Parliament from the 5th District, expressing gratitude to all those who placed their trust in him and supported him throughout his political journey.

He also highlighted his roles within government over the past years, including his service in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Robert Abela. Since his first election, Zrinzo Azzopardi has held a number of senior positions, including Parliamentary Secretary for EU Funds following his appointment in 2020, and later serving as Minister for Public Works and Planning, before moving on to responsibilities related to Lands and European Funds.

While confirming that he will not be contesting as a candidate in the upcoming election, he stated that his political involvement will continue within the Labour Party. He added that his commitment remains focused on helping the party regain and strengthen the trust of the Maltese and Gozitan electorate in the years ahead.

Zrinzo Azzopardi was first elected to Parliament in 2017 and has since served continuously in senior government roles under Prime Minister Abela’s administration.
