Malta Daily can confirm that Minister for Home Affairs Glenn Bedingfield was spotted entering Knisja Ta’ Ġieżu in Valletta, following a recent uproar due to claims about ongoing burlesque and drag-like shows next to the church.

Minister Glenn Bedingfield had stated that photos and videos of the shows shared to social media were not from recently but dated back to more than a year.

However, the church said that these shows never stopped, with residents reportedly sending them photos and videos of them going on this year as well as back in 2024 and 2025.

The controversy has reportedly prompted a meeting between the church and the Minister, after a subsequent response post by the church reiterating that the shows cause continuous noise and obstruction in the area.

‘Finally, I would like to thank all people of goodwill—including politicians, especially from the Government—who have shown us understanding and support over the past few hours’, wrote the church on July 27th.
