Minister Glenn Bedingfield Says 12 People Fined Following Irresponsible Behaviour in Swieqi

Twelve people have been fined following what was described as irresponsible behaviour in Swieqi, according to Minister for Home Affairs and Security Glenn Bedingfield.

In a social media post, Minister Bedingfield said authorities must take a firm approach against anyone who fails to respect public peace and order, praising the police for taking timely action.

“We must be firm with those who do not respect public peace. The Police took action in time, and this is how we must continue to act,” the Minister said.

Bedingfield stressed that rules apply to everyone and that respect towards the community and the law is non-negotiable.

The Minister’s comments followed an incident in Swieqi, where the actions of those involved led to enforcement measures being taken by the authorities.

He reiterated the importance of maintaining public order and ensuring that residents’ right to peace and safety is respected.
