Minister Chris Bonett Responds As Uber Faces Licence Suspension

Chris Bonett, Minister for Sustainable Mobility, has taken to social media to respond to Uber losing their licence after failing to meet particular requirements.
The Minister explained that the company not only failed to meet certain legal and regulatory requirements expected of it, but it also illegally excluded young and self-employed people from working with it.
Bonett assured the public that along with Transport Malta, legal steps are being taken against the company, who have reportedly known about these new regulations “for months.”
“These actions do not help, and only cause harm to the sector,” explained Minister Bonett, “Above everything, they cause harm to the workers, and as a Government we cannot accept this.”
Bonett proceeded to encourage Uber to comply with these new regulations immediately.
