Milied Tfuliti Christmas Event To Be Held Saturday 20th In Naxxar

The Christmas event Milied Tfuliti will take place in Naxxar on Saturday 20 December, offering a celebration for families and residents. The activity will be held from 4pm onwards in Victory Square and St Lucy Street.

Details of the event were announced by Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli and Naxxar Mayor Chris Deguara, together with other members of the local council.

It was explained that this year’s edition will feature a larger and more vibrant Christmas market, with a wide range of craft stalls promoting local artisans, as well as attractions specifically aimed at both children and adults.

A key element of the event will be the participation of non-governmental organisations from Naxxar, including sports clubs and band clubs, which will organise performances appropriate for the festive season.

The event will reach its climax with a concert featuring The New Victorians, the Versatile Brass Band and other well known artists.

Parliamentary Secretary Alison Zerafa Civelli said that this activity forms part of a wider programme of events being organised by local councils across Malta and Gozo. She noted that while Christmas activities in Valletta have been strengthened in recent years, there has also been growth in festive events organised by local councils nationwide to ensure that everyone has access to celebrations during the festive period.

She explained that funding from the Local Government Division is helping ensure that almost every town and village hosts an activity at this time of year, strengthening community life through seasonal events.

She added that the Christmas activities scheme is highly anticipated by local councils, as it allows each council to develop its own original event while receiving financial support that eases the burden on local resources.

Naxxar Mayor Chris Deguara described Milied Tfuliti as an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the true essence of Christmas through tradition. He thanked the Local Government Division for its financial support and said the event is being organised in collaboration with Visit Malta and several private entities.
