Michelin Guide Reveals Malta’s 2026 Selection Including Two Michelin Star Restaurant

Malta’s culinary scene has secured another international boost, with the latest edition of the MICHELIN Guide confirming the islands’ growing reputation as a high-quality gastronomic destination.

The 2026 selection features 48 restaurants, including six newly recommended establishments, while all seven starred restaurants retained their distinctions, signalling consistent standards across the sector.

Ion Harbour maintained its two MICHELIN Star status. Along with Rosamì, Fernandõ Gastrotheque, Under Grai, Noni, De Mondion, Le GV, which have one MICHELIN Star.

The Bib Gourmand category also expanded to five restaurants, with Verbena, AYU, Grain Street, Rubino, and Commando as the latest additions.

Inspectors highlighted strong tourism growth and infrastructure development, trends expected to encourage further high-profile restaurant openings in the coming years.

Individual excellence was also recognised. George Attard received the MICHELIN Young Chef Award after returning to Gozo to lead Level Nine at The Grand.

The Service Award went to the team at Rosamì, while sommelier Miljan Radonjic of De Mondion was honoured for his wine expertise and guest experience.

Officials say the recognitions reinforce Malta’s strategy of attracting high-value visitors seeking refined and authentic experiences, with gastronomy positioned as a central pillar of the country’s premium tourism offering.
