MG Releases 2 New Vehicles And Battery Technology

MG Motor has unveiled a major product and technology offensive, introducing The all-new MG4 Urban, the MG S9 PHEV - its first seven-seat SUV, and next-generation battery innovation.
Leading the announcement is the refreshed MG4 lineup, headlined by the new MG4 EV Urban, an entry-level fully electric model aimed at making electric driving more accessible.
The updated 2026 MG4 EV brings improved interior quality, upgraded technology and extended range.
The carmaker has also entered the large SUV segment with the new MGS9 plug-in hybrid, its first seven-seater.
Designed for family use, it combines a 100KM electric-only range with flexible interior space and high-end features, marking a significant expansion of MG’s lineup.
Beyond vehicles, MG revealed its SolidCore Battery technology, making it the first manufacturer to mass-produce semi-solid-state batteries.
The system promises longer range, faster charging and improved cold-weather performance, with rollout expected in Europe by late 2026. These batteries will also be used to make self-charging hybrid systems more efficient and accessible.
The developments underline MG’s growing presence in Europe, where it has now surpassed one million vehicle sales, as it pushes to combine affordability with advanced electrification.
