Metsola, Abela Back White House Gaza Peace Plan

Taking to social media, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and Prime Minister of Malta Robert Abela backed the recently proposed Gaza peace plan by US President Donald Trump.
‘After yesterday’s talks in Washington’, wrote Metsola, ‘POTUS has put a deal on the table that provides a framework towards peace, stability and reconstruction in Gaza.’
‘Should Hamas accept the peace plan, it would mean that the guns could fall silent; that the hostages can return home; that the suffering could end; that more aid could get to those in need; that protects against mass displacement; and ensures that Hamas can no longer play any role in the future governance of Gaza.’
Metsola said that the plan could give security to Israel and Palestinians a real perspective for their legitimate aspirations towards self-determination and Statehood, and provides hope to the entire region.’
‘After recognising Palestine, the Maltese government welcomes POTUS’ efforts for peace in Gaza, securing the release of hostages & the return of victims of Hamas attacks’, wrote Abela.
‘We call on all parties to commit to a just two-state solution that upholds the rights & aspirations of both peoples.’
