MET Office Issues Red Warning As Gale Force Winds Set Hit

The Meteorological Office has issued a red warning as gale force winds are set to climb to over Force 8.
The East Southeast wind will be very strong over the Maltese islands’, the MET Office explained. The warning is set to be valid until 2100hrs tonight, but will be renewed accordingly.
This comes as the Civil Protection Department issues a warning for people to avoid elevated areas, including balconies, rooftops and hillsides.
The Gozo Channel is also advising that delays and cancellations could be announced.
Sicily, too, is preparing for a massive storm, cancelling schools and urging for utmost safety as Storm Harry is expected to hit.
