MEP Thomas Bajada Urges For Erasmus+ Strengthening

Speaking at the European Parliament, Maltese MEP Thomas Bajada urged the strengthening of the Erasmus+ Project, as it opens doors for many people and strengthens an open EU-wide democracy.
He said that a student leaving his family back home to go study on Erasmus takes more than just luggage. They take their dreams, fears and wishes to discover their abilities, he said.
‘There they discover new cultures, new friendships and grow in their way of seeing the world. We cannot look at Erasmus just through expenses’, he said.
The EU, he said, must look at the doors Erasmus+ opens, and it must be made sure that these doors are opened for everyone, not just for those who can afford it due to their advantages.
Bajada added that investing in Erasmus+ is investing in the strengthening of critical thinking and life, instead of weapons that lead to destruction.
