MEP Thomas Bajada Shares Key Milestone In Europe Moving To An Economy of Wellbeing

Thomas Bajada, a Maltese MEP, has secured another significant step in his campaign to shift Europe toward an Economy of Wellbeing.

In a post on Linkedin, Bajada shared that the report “Beyond GDP: A First Step Towards an Economy of Wellbeing” was presented in the European Parliament yesterday.

“I have pushed the S&D Group to prioritise this topic, building directly on my work ‘The Economy of Wellbeing: Bridging the Gap,’” stated Thomas Bajada.

Bajada has been urging policymakers to move beyond traditional GDP-based assessments and adopt indicators that reflect the real lived conditions of Europeans.

The report presented in the European Parliament was prepared by Dr. Jonathan Spiteri, who is Maltese, and Prof. Peter Birch Sørensen, who is Danish.
