MEP Daniel Attard Presents Report For More Sustainable EU Tourism

Yesterday, Maltese MEP Daniel Attard presented his report in favour of more sustainable tourism in Europe.

The report tackles a number of areas which would make tourism in Europe more sustainable whilst also preserving not just cultural heritage but even the work force.

The report aims to recognise the role of volunteers in the sector in order to boost the cultural ties of the tourism sector.

Attard also highlighted better tourist management, most notably through the regulation of short term rentals.

Moreover, MEP Attard highlighted the importance of equipping workers in the sector during the digital age with the right tools that would ensure they are not exploited or left behind.

Other MEPs welcomed the report, praising the breadth of proposals and ideas it tackles.
