Mellieħa Mayor’s Appeal Leads To Lifeline For Family With 2 Month Old Baby Left Without Power

A desperate appeal by Mellieħa Mayor Gabriel Micallef has resulted in immediate help for a family with a two-month-old baby who were left without electricity overnight during extreme summer heat.
The family, who were facing difficult conditions without power, urgently needed a cool, air-conditioned place where they could stay safely until the electricity supply was restored.
Mayor Micallef issued a public call for assistance, asking residents, hotels, guesthouses, businesses, parishes and organisations to offer a temporary room or safe space for the young family.
The appeal quickly received a positive response, with Paradise Bay Resort stepping in and immediately offering accommodation to the family and their newborn baby.
Micallef thanked the resort for its swift support, as well as everyone who contacted him and offered help.
“Thank you to Paradise Bay Resort for immediately offering accommodation to the family with their two-month-old baby. Thank you also to everyone who reached out and offered their support,” he said.
