MDIA Launches ‘Boost Your Coding’ Scheme Offering Up To €1,000 Rebates

The Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) has launched the Boost Your Coding Scheme, a new initiative providing significant financial support for those looking to develop their coding skills.
The scheme offers a direct rebate of up to €1,000 for individuals who complete coding courses, aiming to reach a target of over 400 applicants. This opportunity is open to a wide range of people, from students and young adults seeking to diversify their skill set to adults who have not previously had the chance to explore the world of coding.

To be eligible for the rebate, applicants must be at least 16 years old and a resident of Malta. Applicants need to apply before the course to receive confirmation of financial support.
However, the MDIA has ensured the scheme is highly accessible by making the eligibility period retroactive. Any coding-specific course started from October 2025 onwards is eligible for the rebate.
This generous timeframe allows those who have already begun their studies to benefit, while also providing a long-term window for new students, as rebate applications will be accepted until September 2026.

The process operates on a reimbursement basis, where the individual pays for the course upfront and claims the costs back after receiving their qualification. The scheme is designed to be flexible; if a single course costs less than the €1,000 maximum, the applicant can apply for a second or even a third course until the full limit is reached.
To ensure a smooth process, the MDIA has provided an official Catalogue of pre-approved courses. However, the authority will also consider courses not currently listed in the catalogue, provided they are fundamentally related to coding and well designed.
Once a course is finished, the successful applicant simply needs to submit their invoice, proof of payment, and certificate of award to receive the rebate. Given that the scheme is limited to the first 400+ successful applicants, interested persons are encouraged to act promptly to secure their spot.
This initiative represents a practical investment in Malta’s digital future, helping the local workforce dive into coding and stay competitive in a technology-driven world.

This is a Government initiative administered by the MDIA and supported by the Ministry for Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects.
