“May 30 is a decision about what future we want for our families” — Robert Abela

At a mass rally in Ħal Qormi, Prime Minister and Labour Party Leader Robert Abela said that the upcoming election represents a crucial moment for the public to decide what future they want for families in Malta.
Dr Abela stated that the Labour movement is “anchored in people’s needs” and that this vision is reflected in the party’s manifesto Int Malta. He said the document sets out a commitment to support citizens at every stage of life, from starting a family, through education, entering the workforce, and purchasing a first home with strong government assistance.
He added that the manifesto also addresses life’s more difficult moments, including when children require therapy, when relationships break down, and in cases of separation or bereavement. According to the Prime Minister, the proposals are designed to make life easier, better, and more dignified for all.
Dr Abela highlighted the government’s record since 2022, citing stable energy prices, pension increases, higher Children’s Allowance, and tax reductions, among other measures. He argued that these commitments were not only fulfilled but exceeded, crediting a strong economy and sound financial management.
He emphasised that every proposal in the Labour Party’s programme is backed by detailed financial planning and a competent team capable of delivering results.
Looking ahead, Dr Abela said: “I want the next five years to be years of prosperity, shared among you, so that students shape a bright future, young people succeed in work and business, workers are rewarded for their efforts, and families spend more quality time together. I want us to continue strengthening rights and investing in pensioners so they maintain dignity. This is a better and stronger Malta. I know this is your dream, because I have spoken with you, and this is our project.”
