Matthew Sant Sultana Returns With Bigger & Funnier San Sultana Xow

Matthew Sant Sultana is returning to the stage with the second edition of San Sultana Xow, promising a production that is bigger, funnier and even more relatable.

Following the success of last year’s show, which was among the first full stand up comedy performances delivered entirely in pure Maltese, Matthew is back with a fresh concept that blends parody songs, original sketches and candid storytelling drawn from everyday Maltese life.

This year’s edition explores the realities of adulthood, from buying property and managing financial pressure to debt, relationship struggles and the lighter moments that make it all worthwhile.

Family dynamics and memorable encounters with in laws also feature prominently. The show takes inspiration from the viral parody Xtrajna Post Aħna, a humorous twist on a Muzika Muzika winning hit, offering reflections that strike close to home.

The production is written by Carlos Debattista and shaped by Matthew Sant Sultana together with Abigail Mallia. Debattista directs the live performance, while Mallia leads the audiovisual direction and creative supervision.

Actor Clayton Mallia joins Matthew on stage, adding sharp timing and lively chemistry.

Staged at City Theatre in Valletta this March 13th and 14th, the event promises surprises and prizes, with doors opening at 7.30 pm.
