MasterChef Malta Finalist ‘Banana’ Made CPD January Calendar Star

Leigh Spiteri Chircop, known by his nickname ‘Banana’, was just made the star of the Civil Protection Malta’s January Calendar image.
A CPD officer himself, Banana proudly shared the decision, writing ‘From saving lives to saving dinner.’
In another heartfelt post, Leigh congratulated this season’s winner Steven, going on to explain his decision to enter the competition.
‘This episode was one of the hardest moments of my life, but also one of the most meaningful. I gave everything I had in this competition, every challenge, every plate, and I carried that pressure all the way to the final. In the last minutes, my emotions got the better of me, but that moment doesn’t define my journey.’
He explained that desserts were never his strength, which made him stay away from the competition in the past.
‘But with time, I’ve learned to see things differently. I didn’t let anyone down. I stood in that kitchen, I fought until the end, and I finished the challenge. That matters.’
‘I am proud of how far I came, proud of the courage it took to try, and proud of the person I became through this experience. This is not an ending, it’s a beginning.’
He thanked his wife, baby girl and his dog for being his strength and calm in his journey, as well as his second family at CPD.
‘And to Chef Victor, Chef Letizia, and Chef Pawlu, thank you for your guidance, honesty, and support throughout this journey.’
