Marigold Foundation Launches 12th Pink October Movember Campaign

The Marigold Foundation has launched its 12th annual Pink October Movember campaign, continuing its nationwide efforts to raise awareness about cancer, provide education and support patients and their families.
This year’s campaign focuses on five cancers: breast, cervical, ovarian, prostate and testicular cancer, encouraging people of all ages to know their bodies, recognise changes and seek medical advice when needed.
Held under the distinguished patronage of H.E. the President of Malta, Dr Myriam Spiteri Debono, the campaign will run for eight weeks through a series of awareness and fundraising activities.
The theme for this year, “Every Body Has Seasons. Every Season Deserves Care,” uses the changing seasons as a symbol of the different stages people experience throughout life. A particular focus is placed on midlife and menopause, reminding people that while some changes are natural, others should not be ignored.
“Awareness is not about fear. It is about knowing our bodies, noticing change and seeking advice when something does not feel right. Every season of our lives deserves the same attention, respect and care,” said Michelle Muscat, Chair of The Marigold Foundation and Campaign Leader.
Funds raised through the campaign will contribute towards a dedicated transport service for oncology patients travelling from Gozo to Malta for treatment and specialist consultations.
The campaign also features an artistic project created with Pink Olive, photographer Lorella Castillo and individuals affected by cancer. The final artwork will be unveiled during a special soirée on 3 November.
The launch concluded with an address by Minister for Health and Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ian Borg, who highlighted the importance of awareness, early detection and collaboration in supporting those affected by cancer.
