March On Day For Elimination Of Violence Against Women

Yesterday, a demonstration took place in Valletta to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Called on by Moviment Graffitti, the demonstration saw individuals and groups come together to walk, sing and shout ‘in one voice against patriarchal violence.’
With placards commemorating women lost to femicide and violence, like Bernice Cilia, Paulina Debmska and Sion Grech, the protesters made sure to keep their memory alive, as well as raising awareness for those experiencing violence every day at home, work, in the street, online, etc.
The demonstration saw speeches and performances by various individuals, culminating in a call for justice against femicide and other abuse to be taken seriously.
