Man Repatriated From Malta After Arrest For Breaching Public Peace

Immigration Police have repatriated a 26 year old man from Malta back to his country of origin in Africa.
The man was arrested earlier this year in Paceville after he was caught disturbing the public peace.
Following investigations carried out by the Chief Immigration Officer, it was established that he was working illegally, as his residence permit in Malta had expired.
An Order for Return and Removal was therefore issued against him, along with a ban preventing him from re-entering the Schengen Area.
He remained held in a detention centre under the care of the Detention Services Agency until the return process was completed, with the man being deported from Malta in recent days.
