Man Pleads With Government To Address Financial And Psychological Damage From Factory Explosion

A Naxxar resident took to social media following the explosion of a firework factory in the area.

“The explosion was heard or felt by everything. Everyone saw the smoke, heard the boise, or felt the shaking. But who really are the victims behind this explosion?” questioned Vella.

He explained that the true victims are the innocent people and animals who found themselves in the middle of a senseless tragedy.

“That which was built through work, dedication, and sacrifice over a long period of time, was eradicated in just a few minutes,” he explained sadly.

James Vella stated that physical damage can be quantified in statistics, but real people are the ones truly affected, with both financial and psychological trauma.

“For this reason, I appeal to the authorities to not look just at the physical damage, but also towards the financial and psychological consequences that these families are carrying,” stated James.

“Because being every number, behind every statistic, there are real people whose lives changed overnight,” he concluded.
